Before
Pre-Screener
If you are interested in your child participating in this project, click here to take our pre-screener. If you are eligible and interested you can leave us your details and we will give you a call.
Telephone Screener
We will either contact you or you may contact us for a 15-20 minute conversation about your child and whether they are suitable for a speech and language assessment.
Click here for our contact information.
Assessment
If you pass the screening process, you and your child will be asked to attend and complete a comprehensive initial face-to-face assessment (120–180-minute assessment across 1-2 appointments). A speech-language pathologist will assess your child’s speech, language, and communication skills, and will determine your child’s Apraxia severity level and confirm whether your child is suitable for the study.
Your assessing clinician will discuss your child’s assessment outcome with you and let you know if your child is eligible for this study.
Randomisation
After the assessment, if you continue in the study, your child will be randomised to one of two groups:
- Experimental treatment group: Your child will receive 18 Dynamic Therapy treatment sessions over 5 weeks
- Usual Care group: Your child will continue their usual care for 9 weeks
